Installation Profiles of Glass Curtains

Glass curtains are ideal for outdoor use due to several reasons. First of all, they prevent humidity build-up, they keep water, wind and dust out, and they allow for proper airflow. Most glass curtains are flexible and can allow any angular shapes with various opening options.  Most glass curtains can have a maximum height of up to three meters and are not difficult to install.

Glass curtains can be used for residential applications as well as commercial applications. Residential applications include the use of glass curtains for enclosing balconies and terraces to protect them from the wind, the rain, and dust.  Glass curtains are not for temporary uses but can be used for years. In homes, they do not affect the view from inside the house. Glass curtains are flexible and can be used on almost any shapes of balconies and terraces.

Commercially, glass curtains are mostly used in the hospitality industry. Outside seating areas can be enclosed with glass curtains to accommodate guests. They are also used in large stores or offices to partition larger areas into smaller sections thus creating a physical barrier. The great thing about using glass curtains as barriers is that you can always fold them and put them away when they are not needed. This makes them the perfect partition solution available on the market.

Glass curtains are installed using profiles. There are several different types of profiles used to install glass curtains. The compensation profile makes it possible to install glass curtains along uneven surfaces while the upper profile makes it possible for them to be attached to the ceiling by holding the wheels which carry their weight. The lower profile is responsible for attaching glass curtains to the ground and has drainage points which avoid the build-up of humidity. The lower profile does not take any of the glass curtain’s weight. It is only used to guide the glass panels and to keep them in place when the glass curtain is closed. And finally, the panel profile holds the glass. Most panel profiles can hold glass that is 6mm, 8mm or 10 mm thick. Tempered security glass is one of the most common types of glass used for glass curtains because it is stable. The maximum height of the glass is determined by the thickness of the glass. Glass of 6mm can be used for glass curtains with a height of up to 1.8 meters while glass of 8mm can be sued for glass curtains with a height of up to 2.5 meters. Glass curtains with a height up to 3 meters normally use glass of 10mm.
